The Nautilus Maldives
Seven villas. One island. No compromises.
The Nautilus is the Maldives at its most reduced. Seven villas on a private island, each with its own pool, built around the idea that exclusivity is a function of scale. The ratio of space to guest is simply not available anywhere else in the portfolio.

Seven villas, all with private pools, on a single island in Baa Atoll. The guest count is low enough that the property functions as a private island for whoever is there.
Seven villas, every one with a private pool and no shared facilities.
The Nautilus is the smallest serious resort in the OV portfolio. Seven villas, all with private pools, on a single island. The proposition is not amenity depth but ratio: the number of guests on the property at any given time is low enough that the experience is functionally private.
The island sits in Baa Atoll, within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The marine environment is among the most productive in the Maldives. Whale sharks and manta rays are present for much of the year in the surrounding waters. The house reef is accessible directly from the villas.
The villa programme runs from one to three bedrooms, with a maximum occupancy of eight guests per villa. The largest configurations are suited to families or small groups who want the island effectively to themselves. Every villa category includes a private pool as standard.
Transfer is by seaplane from Malé, placing the island within the standard Baa Atoll window. The combination of extreme boutique scale, a productive marine corridor, and all-pool villas positions The Nautilus in a category with very few direct comparisons in the portfolio.
Seven villas means the property can feel very quiet, which is the point for most guests who book it. For guests who want a resort programme, multiple dining venues, or a spa with depth, The Nautilus will not deliver that. The amenity set is deliberately minimal.
The marine environment and the ratio are the two reasons to book. If neither is the primary draw, OV would steer toward a larger property in the Baa Atoll range.
OV advises on The Nautilus alongside Soneva Fushi and Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi as the three properties in the Baa Atoll and ultra-boutique range. Soneva Fushi for guests who want significant programme depth, eco-credentials, and the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with more dining and activity options. Waldorf Astoria for guests who want a larger ultra-lux property with overwater villas and a fuller resort infrastructure.
Who this is for
Couples who want the Maldives experience without sharing a beach or a pool deck with strangers. Small groups or families taking two or three villas who want the island to function as a private hire. Divers and snorkellers for whom the Baa Atoll marine corridor is the primary draw. Guests who have stayed at larger ultra-lux properties and found the scale too social.
Selected villa categories, and OV's advice on each.
OV advises specifically on villa positioning at The Nautilus Maldives: orientation, view, size relative to your group. The decisions are consequential and the price differential is real.

Beach Residence
The beach-facing residence at The Nautilus, with a private pool set into the garden between the villa and the sand. Direct beach access from the pool deck. The configuration suits guests who prefer the beach proposition over an overwater outlook, or who find the lagoon entry easier from a beach position.

Two Bedroom Beach Residence
The two-bedroom beach configuration at The Nautilus. Two separate bedroom suites, a private pool, and direct beach access within a single villa footprint. The layout suits families with children or two couples travelling together. At this scale, two villas of this type would give a group of four near-exclusive use of the island.

Beach Villa
The entry-level beach category at The Nautilus. Direct beach access and a garden setting within the island's most compact villa footprint. The configuration suits guests for whom the beach position is the priority and the pool is secondary. The same boutique scale applies: with seven villas on the island, the beach is never crowded.

Beach Pool Villa
A beach villa with a private pool at The Nautilus. The pool sits between the villa and the beach, with direct sand access beyond. The configuration is the mid-tier beach option: more generous than the standard Beach Villa, without the full Residence footprint. Suits couples who want the pool as a primary feature alongside the beach.

Ocean Residence
The overwater configuration at The Nautilus. A private pool sits at the deck edge with direct access to the lagoon below. With only seven villas on the island, the water around this residence is rarely shared. The category suits couples who want the overwater proposition at its most private.
The details that define this stay are confirmed before you arrive.
With only seven villas on the island, availability windows are narrow and the booking sequence matters. OV confirms villa category, transfer timing, and any onward connections before you commit.
The Nautilus runs from beach to ocean-facing configurations across one to three bedrooms. The right category depends on group size, preferred outlook, and whether direct lagoon access or beach proximity is the priority. OV advises before booking, not on arrival.
OV monitors availability windows for The Nautilus and can hold dates while you confirm travel arrangements. Peak-season windows in particular require early action. We flag this before you lose the dates.
Whale shark and manta ray activity in Baa Atoll follows a seasonal pattern. OV advises on the optimal travel window for the marine experience you want, and passes dive certifications and snorkel preferences to the property before arrival.
Arrival arrangements, dining preferences, and any in-villa inclusions are confirmed before you travel, not left to the resort's discretion on the day. OV passes the brief to the property directly.
OV coordinates the seaplane transfer from the Malé terminal, confirms soft-bag requirements, and passes all dietary and accessibility notes to the property. Departure-day timing and any Malé overnight are arranged at the planning stage.
